Opening day of ComicCon's first time at the Irving Convention Center was beyond amazing - show organizers were aiming for a first day crowd of 3,000 - but early estimates put it at well over 7,000, and probably closer to 8,000! Most definitely a single day's record for this young building. Carrie Fisher, Leonard Nimoy and Stan Lee certainly mega-draws, but the lines were there all day long - inlcuding 3 hours before openin g- for other great talents, including John Romita Jr., Thomas Jane, John Wesley Shipp, Amanda Pays, and many others. Great artists all over the building - anime talents, cartoonists, all gracious and in the midst of a crowd of definitely adoring fans, like the young Captain America pictured here! Something for everyone, most definitely! Can't wait to see what Day Two brings!
